Canva Pro (if you want to edit your ad creative after it's launched, you'll need canva pro, but I bet you already have this)
Zapier or Make.com - $20+/month (this is what connects the Facebook ad data to your email list - this system doesn't work without it).
Your Facebook Ad Budget (this is determined by you - my recommendation is $25/day for the first 2 weeks until your lead cost levels out, and then you can spend as little as $5/day if you choose).

I promise it's not as confusing as it sounds, your lead magnet is just that piece of information (maybe it's a free guide, a free mp3 audio download, or a free mini-course) that people get in exchange for their email address.
This is the traditional way to get people onto your email list when you don't already know them, and while it's an excellent strategy to grow your contacts... there's one little problem...
Getting enough clicks (traffic) to that amazing little freebie offer you've created can seem like you're on a roller coaster ride that you can't get off 🤢. Posting endlessly into the black hold isn't getting you very far (if it is, my guess is you wouldn't be here right now 😉).
A Facebook Lead Ad is a specific type ad that shows your freebie to people on Facebook and Instagram and allows them to download it WITHOUT LEAVING social media.*
I'll explain.
If you have a lead magnet that is converting organically (meaning, you're posting it online and people want to download it from your blog, or from Facebook groups or your IG bio etc) and you need to dial up how much traffic you get... you might try a traffic ad. These are the ads where you just send clicks from social media to your landing page and hope for the best.
Except, this means that your landing page has to be 🧑🍳💋.
Or in other words, you have to become an expert copywriter, video production assistant or graphic designer, and you have to understand sales copywriting to the point where you can continue to tweak your landing page to get people to opt-in once they get there.
I've tried A LOT of different ads over the years, and traffic ads can be successful, but it takes a pretty big budget and a lot of editing to get them working... and my guess is that if you're looking to grow your email list, you want to do it as quickly as possible, and with the least amount of stress and tweaks possible as well.
Or you might be brand new to this whole email list building thing and in that case... I just gave you the cheat code that let you skip about 25 levels #yourewelcome 😆
