My ADHD Story and Why I created this...

So you might be thinking... what is an ADHD support community doing on your marketing website?

Well, spoiler alert, I have ADHD. I was diagnosed at 38 years old after a conversation with one of my kids teachers where it was hinted at that perhaps I should get an assessment done for them because they really struggled to focus among other things.

As I dove down the rabbit hole (not it makes sense why I do love a good rabbit ole LOL), I was like "hold on a second here, these characteristics are all me, to a tee!"

Maybe I'm the one who needs an assessment? And I've heard this exact same stories by a ton of other moms who ended up late diagnosed as a result of looking into it for our children. We've been this way all along, but we were missed because we were:

  • high achievers

  • kept up in school

  • people pleasers

  • had lots of friends...

It's because we were (and probably still are) incredibly good at hiding the chaos beneath the surface.

We can get sh*t done in the 11th hour when we need to, that's kind of how we roll. But we don't have to! We are allowed to find more focus and flow for ourselves, it's just finding the right space where you feel comfortable to do that.

It all made sense after the diagnosis

Well, here we are, ADHD and going strong in business.

All of those years of feeling like I was losing my mind for forgetting something I was repeating in my head so I didn't forget by the time I went downstairs to my office? It wasn't me being a dummy, my short term memory just likes to take a little ADHD vacation 🤣

Or those unfinished house projects? Turns out I just like to start them when my brain gets a hit of "oh this is fun, I could probably rip out this floor and redo it by myself dopamine"...

Thank goodness for my husband who comes in to finish my projects or it would be real chaos over here 😬

I started to discover what made me tick for the first time ever and I was almost 40.

As embarrassed as I felt asking others for help just to focus, it became my lifeline to finishing projects whether they were for myself or clients.

I would love to be that person for you. That person who opens the door to what focus and flow can do for your amazing neurospicy self ;)

I'm a no pressure kind of girl...

So this is open all the time to join. No fancy launches for this one. Just join if you feel that it will help you as much as it helped me. But if it's not the right time... come back later, it will still be open for you!

You might be wondering why set this up as a membership community...

I have some experience with setting up memberships and helping people achieve stuff.

When I started MarketingClub.ca with my colleague we thought people wanted more training. More resources.

I had run what I used to call "work with me parties" for members of another community and people always loved getting stuff done together and I remember saying to Jen "Hey maybe we should see if our members want a weekly work with me party, should we give it a go?"

Turns out it's the thing they love the most, and it's the #1 reason they STAY as members. For the accountability.

But for us ADHD peeps, "accountability" might as well be a swear word 🖕

It's not training and workshops.

You don't actually need more training. You don't need another workshop. And you don't need another template.

You just need someone to hold space for you to show up and get the thing done - together!

And what would an ADHD community be without a little magic sprinkled in... so every day I also pull a tarot card for you and send the energy straight to your inbox.

This is something that I'm doing for myself and for you. It's my way of giving back and holding space for others who just need a little support to get something done every week, and this is my official invite for you to join if you want to borrow a little energy from the group ;)
