Website Mistakes to Avoid

A current client came to me excited, prepared, and organized. She sent inspiration images, detailed notes from our call, and had big plans for her business with sixteen courses in total.
But when she saw the first design, I got an email that started with:

“I hate everything.”

That might sound like a design problem, but beneath the surface, it’s not.
It’s a clarity problem.

Your designer can’t bring your vision to life if you don’t know what that vision is yet.
And that’s okay. Most people aren’t unclear because they’re unprepared. They’re unclear because their business is still evolving.

If you wait until every course, offer, or idea is ready, you’ll never launch.
That’s why I help clients focus on the MVP, the Minimum Viable Product. A clean, functional site that communicates what you offer right now and gives you room to grow later.

Nine out of ten times, I hear things like “How did you know what I wanted?” or “It’s like you read my mind.”
That’s not magic. It’s clarity. When the message is clear, the design flows.

DIYing your website and want to get unstuck? Ask yourself:

1. What is the one offer I can confidently promote right now, even if everything else is still in progress?

2. Who is that offer really for, and what problem does it solve for them today?

3. If someone landed on my website tomorrow, what’s the single action I’d want them to take?

Clarity comes from making decisions, not from waiting for perfect answers. Start there and your website (and your designer) will thank you.
