If there’s one thing running a business with ADHD has taught me, it’s this:
It’s not the work that exhausts us. It’s deciding what to do first.
I used to spend more time in decision-limbo than actually getting things done.
So this year, I gave myself a Decision Detox based on what actually works in my life and schedule.
Here are the 3 big shifts I made
Rule #1
Calendar First, Chaos Later 😜
I streamlined my calendar by:
✔ Bookending my work blocks between school drop-off + pickup
✔ Protecting mornings for creative work
✔ Moving all calls to set time blocks... not sprinkled everywhere (that was the single biggest productivity killer for me!)
This alone reduced the mental gymnastics by half.
(I’ll include a screenshot of my new time-blocked week because…it’s beautiful... and it's my real branded colours which makes my brain happy. Can you relate? LOL)
Rule #2
Availability Set for the WHOLE Year
(No more “let me get back to you”)
I opened all my call availability in Calendly for 2026... in advance.
Now people can book without:
back-and-forth emails
guessing when I’m free
me rearranging my life around every request
Game. Changer.
Rule #3
If Everything Feels Equal → Pick Revenue
When every task looks equally important (hello, ADHD paralysis 👋):
I ask:
“Which one pays me or gets me closer to money right now?”
If I can invoice it or sell from it → it wins.
Because admin work doesn’t pay the bills… but done client work sure does.
Bonus Rule
Work ON Your Business (or get stuck IN it)
If you only do client work…
Your marketing stops.
Your leads slow down.
Your energy tanks.
Your calendar empties.
That’s why I schedule CEO days for:
Planning my promotions
Pre-writing emails like the one you’re reading 😊
Reviewing Facebook list-building ads
Checking what’s working + what’s not
Future revenue moves
Strategic time = future money.
If you want any help mapping out some strategic marketing moves of your own, my calendar still has a few 30-minute spots left this month where we can:
✔ Look at your calendar + find the drains
✔ Make ONE big simplification
✔ Pick the task that moves the money NOW
