We enjoyed promoting this event, and the numbers are in, they estimate some 40,000 people came through to check out the first annual Port Moody Ribfest!

Here’s a letter we received today from the Port Moody Rotary Club thanking all of the sponsors, thank you to the Rotary Club for all you do. Did you know that the funds raised will go directly back into our community?

RE: The Port Moody RibFest presented by Thrifty Foods

Dear Brittany,

Wow! What a smashing success! Hosted by the Rotary Club of Port Moody, the inaugural Port Moody Ribfest presented by Thrifty Foods has received rave reviews and by all accounts was tremendously popular with those that attended! Now four days out from the festival, the buzz around the community continues to be all about Ribfest. We continue to receive requests and questions as to whether or not there will be a second annual Ribfest in 2016. In our minds, this is all very positive feedback and certainly encouraging as we look to next year!

We estimate that over the weekend some 40,000 people from all parts of the Lower Mainland visited Rocky Point Park, and that figure is more than 10,000 people greater than what we had projected for the first year of the event. Overall the numbers were astonishing as evidenced by follow up discussions with the Ribbers who estimated that 15,000 lbs. of BBQ ribs were consumed!

On behalf of the Rotary Club of Port Moody and the entire event organizing committee, we wanted to extend our sincerest thanks for your sponsorship and overall support of the event. There is no way that an event of this magnitude can take place without the backing of our community and the business enterprises within it. As a committee, we worked strategically to provide commensurate exposure for the brands of those partners that provided a corresponding contribution to the event. We truly hope that the publicity your organization received from its involvement in The Port Moody Ribfest presented by Thrifty Foods was advantageous and that those benefits you received continue to be apparent in the future.

All of the funds generated from this event will go directly back into not-for-profit community organizations that are supported by The Rotary Club of Port Moody.

We welcome your feedback and look forward to hopefully working with you again next year! Please let us know about any thoughts you have regarding the event by directing an email to Al Stjernegaard and Ian MacPhail

Kind Regards,
