A blog is a great way to show your audience what you know about your industry while also driving traffic to your website. Writing a blog post seems simple enough, but when you’re staring at that blank page trying to fill it with text it can prove to be difficult. Find out ten steps to the perfect blog post below to make writing your blogs easier…
- Add Images
- Add a CTA
- Format and Post
- Link on social
Knowing your audience is so important. Make sure you do some research on who your audience is and what they might be interested in before you start writing your blog post. Write your blog post to cater to your audience, appealing to a smaller, engaged audience is better than trying to appeal to everyone!
Teach your audience something, share something interesting, write helpful checklists or tutorials, or write something personal. Blog topics are endless! One hack we like to use is seeing what people are searching on Google by looking at the search suggestions when typing in a subject.
Make sure your blog post is factual and do proper research on your topic, and always make sure to give credit to any sources used!
Write a quick outline with your title, intro, body, and conclusion to base your draft on. This will ensure that your thoughts aren’t scattered.
Now it’s time to actually write! Writing the body paragraphs is sometimes easier to write first, followed by the conclusion and intro.
Revise, revise, revise! Make sure there are no spelling or grammar mistakes and awkward sentences. Try reading it outloud to yourself to see how it sounds.
Create your blog banners and any other images that will add to your post, we always use Canva. 😉
Add a CTA
Add a call to action at the end of your post, it could be as simple as “Contact us for a free consult!”
Format and Publish
Format your blog post and make it look great, then publish!
Link on Social
Create an image to post on social telling your audience about your new blog post with a link for them to read. Don’t forget Pinterest either! Pinterest can be a great platform to get blog traffic.
And that’s it! Let us know what you’re going to write about next. Happy blogging!
